Captain Driscoll commands the Special Operations Division, including the School Resource Officer Unit, Traffic Safety Unit, Special Enforcement Team, K-9 Unit, and Office of Professional Standards.

Captain Driscoll began his law enforcement career in the United States Navy, Security Forces Master-at-Arms, in 1991. After he retired from the United States Navy in 2007, Captain Driscoll joined the Summerville Police Department. During that time, he has served in several capacities including: uniform patrol, general detective, patrol supervisor, detective supervisor, and patrol watch commander. Captain Driscoll maintains several certifications including: South Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Course, Basic Detective, Statement Analysis, Reid Technique of Interview and Interrogation, Cellebrite Cell Phone Forensic Data Recovery Operations, Field Training Officer, Fairfax County Virginia Police Honor Guard School, and Standard Field Sobriety Testing.
