Captain Gebhardt commands the Administrative Division, which includes Training, Communications, Records and purchasing.

Captain Gebhardt began his law enforcement career in the United States Air Force Security Forces in 1997. Captain Gebhardt joined the Summerville Police Department in 2007. In that time he has served in several capacities including investigations division commander, uniform patrol, investigations, patrol supervisor, watch commander, tactical team commander, and training officer. Gebhardt maintains several certifications for the department, including those of South Carolina Basic Law Enforcement instructor, field training officer manager, training manager, firearms instructor, and patrol rifle/select fire instructor. Further training and certifications include the Barrow County (GA) Basic SWAT School, FBI Washington Field Office Close Quarters Battle School, Midlevel Management, Basic Detective, Statement Analysis, Reid Technique of Interview and Interrogation, Forensic Cell Phone Data Recovery Operations, and the FBI’s Carolina Command College. Captain Gebhardt received a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from Columbia College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
