Administrative Division Commander

The Administrative Division consists of several units.

Training Division

The Summerville Police Department’s Training Division is responsible for scheduling, conducting, recording, tracking and reporting basic, advanced, and in-service level training for all department sworn and civilian employees.

The Training Division is committed to seeking and providing training that best suits the department’s needs and the career development goals of its employees. It also ensures that all officers obtain more than the required amount of re-certification in-service hours.

Training is provided or scheduled for officers, dispatchers, victim advocates, records personnel, and other civilian employees.

Records Division

The Records Division is responsible for maintaining all paper, electronic, and other forms of documents, reports, and other records generated by the Summerville Police Department. The division is also responsible for disseminating these records upon request.

Communications

The mission of the Summerville Emergency Communications Center is to act as the critical link between public safety agencies and the citizens they protect and serve. It assists responders in preserving life and property by relaying accurate information in a timely and efficient manner and provides professional, courteous, and compassionate service to all customers.
