Internet Purchasing Zone

The Summerville Police Department is pleased to announce an Internet Purchase Exchange “Safe Zone” located in the police department’s lobby at 300 W. 2nd North St.

We believe it’s important to provide an area where citizens can feel at ease when buying or selling items from websites like Facebook, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc. The department’s lobby is well-lit and monitored by 24/7 surveillance, with parking spaces readily available. While an officer won’t be present to monitor exchanges or verify whether the items being exchanged are stolen, don’t hesitate to call for assistance if you feel uncomfortable. Conveniently, our dispatch center is also located in the lobby.
